Come and join the new weekly Clay Club at Anderson Hall, Leslie this Autumn and Winter with creative artist and workshop tutor Deborah Cameron The weekly Clay Club is the perfect creative escape for anyone who would like to experience the joys of working with clay Sessions will include weekly hands on making and decorating using smooth white earthenware and lovely rich terracotta clays. We will cover pinch pots, hand building and flat lay work and use these techniques to create a range of decorative pieces - inspiration and tuition will offered each week for items such as small sculptures, trinket dishes, botanic tiles, jewellery, hanging plaques, fairies and tea light holders - you are also welcome to explore your own ideas. To finish your work we will also cover clay decoration, stamping and impressions as well as colour using slips, underglaze and sgraffito. Your clay creation will be stored safely each week for you to continue working on the next week - or if complete - it will be stored for drying, ahead of being fired in the kiln. It will then be sealed with an acrylic varnish sealer for you, making it safe for indoors and out and returned to you at the next class. *please note the items we make in this club are not suitable for food or holding water* You can add further details to your finished handmade ceramic piece with acrylic or enamel paints and relief liners to completed fired pieces - these materials will be available to you in class if you want to add additional finishes. Course price includes 9 weekly evening sessions in the Autumn/Winter block, choice of clay, underglazes and slips, tools, tuition, finishings, support and kiln firing of your pieces. Hooks, ribbons, magnets, pins, brooch backs and findings, glue etc will be available for you to use to complete any pieces you make.
