An Autumn Day of Creativity – Plaster Casting Relief Workshop with Deborah Cameron Come and enjoy a creative day of making, learning, and connecting with nature in this intimate plaster casting relief workshop with artist Deborah Cameron at Collessie Hall this October. In this small, friendly class, you will discover the joy of capturing the beauty of autumn flowers and foliage in plaster, creating your own unique relief cast to treasure. Deborah will gently guide you through each stage of the process, sharing her knowledge and techniques as you learn how to prepare, cast and finish your piece. While your plaster cast is carefully curing, you’ll have the chance to explore colour and finish techniques on a sample piece, learning how to bring out the wonderful textures and details of your cast. You’ll gain confidence in the process and discover how a simple impression of nature can be transformed into a beautiful artwork. With plenty of time for guidance and conversation, this small-group workshop is suitable for beginners and anyone who would like to spend a relaxing, creative day trying something new. With a small class size, this is a relaxed and friendly experience with plenty of individual support, conversation, and time to enjoy the creative process together. **During the workshop you will:** * Create your own plaster relief cast artwork and 2 hanging decorations using seasonal flowers and foliage (feel free to bring some of your own) * Learn the process of preserving a floral arrangement in clay, plaster preparation with best mixing ratios for floral casting, creating a cast, finishing, colouring and be given information on choosing a frame and tips for framing your artwork * Try different colouring techniques on a practice pieces * Enjoy a peaceful, creative day in the company of friends, family, and fellow makers * Take home 3 beautiful unique handmade pieces celebrating the beauty of autumn This workshop is a chance to gather together, slow down, enjoy the changing season, and create a lasting memory from a day spent creating.
